Hi, i have just started to get a leak from the bottom of my towel rail radiator (please see image)
It appears to be coming from underneath the the cover that you turn to open and close the valve Do i need to replace this valve (if so, is this easy?), or can i fix the leak in this valve. Hi my boiler keeps on losing pressure so i found out that the towel rail valve is leaking Does anyone know if this can be replaced
The leak is on the left side dial There is a dial on the right side as well Is one of the dials a trv? How i repaired a customers leaking chrome towel rail valve on boxing day 2022
I had no parts on the van and the closest supplier would of been closed before i got to them
Hi all, the instructions with this towel rad merely said use ptfe tape around the tread of the value tail when screwing this into the rad The blanking plug and bleed valve at the top don't have this issue as they have rubber seals. If that doesn't work, turn both valves off (fully clockwise, use a small adjustable spanner to nip them up) and the only water left to leak out will be that from within the radiator. Hi, my towel radiator valve is leaking from the centre where it screws in rather than from the pipe or radiator joints
I've seen plenty of articles/videos on how to use a string of ptfe to pack a gland on a standard radiator valve but i can't find anything on these now common towel radiator specific valves. The first step in fixing a leaking towel rail radiator is to identify where the leak is coming from Common sources include the valve connection points, the body of the radiator itself, or the joints between sections
