What might be causing the air leak?
Ok guys i have a air leak at the firewall of my sterling dump truck.the line goes in to a box that has connection for the plastic hoses what or how. 2005 freightliner ext cab m2 mountain master rv puller, cat c7 300 hp, 6 speed allison trv3000, air locker 4.33 diff, michelin 255/80r22.5 lrg tires, pulling a 2008 40' triple axle hitchhiker. With the air system charged to 120 psi (827 kpa), check the fan clutch for audible air leaks, using a suitable listening device Check at the solenoid valve, the air filter assembly, and the air hoses and fittings.
Squeeze all air springs to check for complete deflation Inspect the air spring piston for cracks, chips, and broken areas Check the air bag for rips, tears, and holes Verify that the air spring assembly does not leak
Check the axle connection welds (beam seat to equalizing beam) and axle adapter to axle for cracks.
I have a 2007 freightliner m2 with a cat c9 Bought truck month ago and have fixed 4 air leaks including Replaced all cab air bags one was leaking where you could hear it with truck off (count as 1 leak) and 3 quick connect air fittings in different locations changed to brass. Regarding the leak down of air With engine off, tanks fully charged, park brake set, press brake pedal You should see little air bleed off no more than 4 lbs in 30 seconds If so you may have an air leak
(you should hear air hissing with a leak) track it down
If at a coupling, push in on the line I understand that dynamax may cut into the green line at the firewall for brake applied. Need help with air leak
