So, i was changing the motor oil and notice that the rack and pinion black boot on both side are leaking Not leaving stains on the floor but are dark The rack and pinion appears to be leaking behind the boot (i have not removed to inspect further) on the drivers side where the rack housing meets the rack boot Its a slow drip maybe 6 small drips over 8 hours
It does seem to explaine the whine i have been hearing from the power steering pump. Is this a common problem Can you just replace the seals to fix this & if so who is the best supplier? Had my power rack and pinion assembly replaced on my '02 a couple of months ago at my local toyota dealership
